2017- a new year and a new blog

So I started sewing again about 2 years ago and discovered there was a whole new dimension to it with the online resources now available.

There was a whole new world of online resources – techniques, PDF patterns( I just love the instant access), indie pattern designers, and of course blogs.

Over the last 2 years I think I’ve become a blog addict. I discovered Bloglovin and started following a few bloggers, which has rapidly expanded to a long list of inspiring sewers.

And then of course I began to think, maybe I should try this too and become a more active part of the online community.

and that’s where the 2017 new year resolution comes in! Start a blog in 2017.

So having managed to work out how to create a blog( I think) I’m starting with my sewing resolutions for 2017 . Here is my #2017makenine plans which I thought would encourage me to use some of my patterns and stash of fabric in the coming months.

My first planned make

Sew House 7 Toaster sweater. I bought this PDF in December and its top of my list for January sewing. Planning to use  fabric purchased in theatre Textile Centre Boxing Day sale – a mid weight textured cloque Jersey ( still available on 25% off sale) in grey. It’s a lovely weight and hopefully ideal for this sweater. More on the sweater in my next post!.

  1. Welcome to the world of blogging! Looking forward to seeing what you make. One of my all time favourite is in you make nine – the Yasmin yoke skirt. Good luck with the blogging, you’ll love it, Ali 😀

  2. Welcome to Blogland – and good luck with your sewing plans for 2017! I love the TATB Agnes pattern – I’ve made about half a dozen and love them all – the neckline always seems to fit beautifully! Looking forward to seeing the results.
My NY resolution was to start blogging regularly again, after a six month hiatus.
